History

The SDRF was started in order to reach out to and interact with the marginalized and impoverished Isan people of Northeast Thailand. In an effort to respond to the needs of the local people the SDRF developed a system of integrated agriculture focused on local villages to help the poor deal with their subsistence needs. Systems that integrated pigs and ducks with fish and vegetables and were linked to stable water resources were developed in multiple village communities in order to provide those in need with a base of support.   To this point the SDRF has expanded the work to villages in a wide area.
